New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady reportedly wants to pursue an acting career in Hollywood after he retires from the NFL. But, according to the same report, his wife, Gisele Bundchen, is against the idea of him acting because of one reason.
Brady began his NFL career as a sixth-round draft pick and will end it with a resume that'll make him a guaranteed first-ballot Hall of Famer. Now with four Super Bowl rings and his 38th birthday around the corner, Brady reportedly already knows what's next for him after retirement: becoming a big-name Hollywood star.
"At 37, Tom knows he only has a few seasons left before retirement. He's thinking ahead and believes he could become a huge movie star," a source told Star magazine, via the Boston Herald. "He's used to being a superstar. After winning the Super Bowl again, he's thinking about new challenges outside of football."
There could be one major hitch to that dream, however. According to the report, Bundchen "doesn't like the idea of him cozying up to other actresses on set," as The Herald put it.
Brady's acting resume includes hosting "Saturday Night Live" and a cameo on the "Entourage" television series. Audiences will get a better look at his acting chops this summer when the movies "Entourage" and "Ted 2" hit theatres.
As for whether Brady has the talent to succeed in Hollywood, one famous actor and producer seems to think so. Mark Wahlberg spoke with Grantland's Bill Simmons back in November and praised Brady for the performance he gave while filming "Ted 2."
"We shot 'Ted 2.' And we have an amazing performance from none other than the greatest quarterback of all time. Tom is in the movie," Wahlberg told Simmons, via the Daily Mail. "He plays himself, but he does an amazing job. Funny, funny moment."
