‘American Horror Story’ Actor Ben Woolf Dies – Hit By A Car Four Days Ago

"American Horror Story" star Ben Woolf died of a stroke on Monday, four days after an SUV struck him while he crossed the street in Hollywood. He was 34 years old.

The vehicle's side mirror clipped the 4 foot 4 actor, who was diagnosed with pituitary dwarfism at a young age, on the night of Feb. 19 and Woolf was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, according to The Los Angeles Times. He remained in intensive care until his death around 3:20 p.m. on Feb. 23.

His family issued the following statement (via L.A. Times):

"We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from all over the world for our beloved Ben. He touched so many hearts in his 34 years. His memory will live on within each of us and within his work."

Police interviewed the driver at the scene of the accident, but did not issue any citations since Woolf was jaywalking. The investigation is ongoing.

Woolf starred in FX's "American Horror Story: Freak Show" as Meep, a Greek performer in Elsa Mars' (Jessica Lange) freak show who was murdered after Dell framed him for murder. He also appeared in the first season of "AHS" (a.k.a. "Murder House") as Thaddeus Montgomery, a.k.a. The Infantata.

His other credits included "Dead In Kansas," "Unlucky Charms" and "Haunting Charles Manson."

Creator Ryan Murphy and Woolf's co-stars also expressed their loss on Twitter.

Woolf was not married and had no childen. He lived with his dog, Lisa, who will be taken in by his mother.

The family will hold a memorial service in Santa Barbara in the next few weeks.
