Niecy Nash Joins Ryan Murphy’s 'Scream Queens’

FOX's "Scream Queens" just got a lot louder.

Actress Niecy Nash has joined the cast of the upcoming horror series "Scream Queens," E! Online reported. The 45-year-old "Selma" actress will play Denise, a private security guard who "kicks major butt."

Nash is best known for her role as Deputy Raineesha Williams on Comedy Central's series "Reno 911!" and is a series regular on the TV Land sitcom "The Soul Man," HBO's medical comedy "Getting On" and has a recurring role on FOX's comedy series "The Mindy Project."

"Scream Queens" will also star Lea Michele, Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Joe Manganiello, Keke Palmer, Abigail Breslin, Billie Lourd and Skyler Samuels. Nick Jonas and singer Ariana Grande will also make an appearance on the show.

The series from "Glee" and "American Horror Story" creator Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan "is set at a college rocked by a series of murders."

"I knew I wanted to work with Brad and Ian again on something comedic, and we are having a blast writing Scream Queens," Murphy said in a statement. "We hope to create a whole new genre-comedy-horror-and the idea is for every season to revolve around two female leads. We've already begun a nationwide search for those women, as well as 10 other supporting roles, and we're very grateful to Dana [Walden] and Gary[Newman] for their enthusiastic support."

The show is slated to premiere this fall on the FOX Network.
