"Baseball Wives" star Anna Benson and ex-major league pitcher Kris Benson have been in the throes of divorce since 2012, and it's been a rocky path, to say the least-what with Anna giving lip service to just about every media outlet and questions of Kris' infidelity, the two have been fighting tug of war for more than a year.
Now, things have gotten irreparably worse: Anna was arrested on Monday after she reportedly showed up to her estranged husband's Marietta, Ga. home wearing a bulletproof vest, strapped with a firearm and metal baton, demanding cash.
38-year-old Kris said that he allayed his wild ex-wife's crazed behavior by assuring her that he'd go grab some money right away. Instead, he retreated to another room and called the police.
Anna is being charged with assault and criminal trespassing, according to Fox News.
Anna and Kris have three young children together and were married for 13 years before splitting.
Soon after the two announced their divorce, 37-year-old Anna went on FOX411 in July 2012, claiming he'd engaged in illicit behavior with her best friend.
"Kris was my whole life. And he left me for someone else and he just abandoned us," she said at the time. "I'm scared and I just don't know what I'm going to do or how I'm going to take care of these kids."
She went on to say that Kris drove her to sell the family home in Cumming, Ga.
"Kris told me that he would help me get into another home," Anna said during the interview. "But he tricked me. I would have never sold my house without him telling me that he was going to help me get into another house."
At the time, Kris responded carefully, saying he wasn't interested in airing out dirty laundry.
"As much as I'd love to comment about these accusations, I think it's best for myself and my children that I let these things be handled legally, not through the media," he stated.
Anna was a star on VH1's reality television show "Baseball Wives" from 2011 to 2012.
She was quoted in 2004 as saying that if Kris ever was unfaithful, she would have no qualms sleeping with all of his teammates.
"I told [Kris], cheat on me all you want," she said. "If you get caught, I'm going to screw everybody on your entire team."
