Houston (38-18) sits third in the Western Conference and is the winner of two straight after Monday's 113-102 win against Minnesota. Despite not having center Dwight Howard for almost a whole month, the Rockets have continued to thrive - largely because of star James Harden, the league's leading scorer. He carried the team again on Monday with a triple-double - 31 points, 10 assists and 11 rebounds - to go along with four blocks and an ankle-breaking crossover that sent Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio falling to the ground.

"When I get my teammates confident to shoot their shots and be aggressive and get them in their rhythm, I can get into mine and that makes everything easy," said Harden, who now has 25 30-point games and is averaging 27.3 points per game, according to ESPN.

For Los Angeles, shutting down Harden is the key to avoiding two straight losses.

"James is one of the few guys in the league that you can't just guard with one person," Clippers guard Chris Paul said. "He's like (Russell Westbrook, LeBron James and Kevin Durant). He can score in so many different ways, so you have to defend him with the entire team."

The Clippers, who're still without star Blake Griffin, had their four-game winning streak snapped on Monday in a 90-87 loss against Memphis. Paul had 30 points and 10 assists, and center DeAndre Jordan nearly had a double-double with nine points and 17 rebounds.

Los Angeles (37-20) is currently sixth in the conference.
