‘Hindsight’ Star Craig Horner Reflects On A New Life For Sean, The Struggles Of New Relationships And Denim On Denim Fashion [EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW]

Becca's return from the future has upended the lives of her closest friends, but no one more so than her ex-fiancé Sean, who planned on being a married man by now on VH1's "Hindsight."

"When we first see Sean in episode one, he thinks he's got it altogether," Craig Horner, who plays the struggling artist, tells Headlines & Global News. "He's very confident, even though his career hasn't quite taken off. He believes in himself and his relationship, but then the rug is swept out from underneath him when Becca leaves him at the altar."

Sean will continue to question Becca's decision throughout the rest of the season as he tries to pick up the pieces and move on. His new single status also causes him to reflect on who he is as an individual rather than someone in a relationship.

"He needs to discover who he really is and what he has to offer because in relationships, you can start to lose yourself a little bit," the Australian actor says. "When you come out of a relationship, you have to rediscover yourself again. You feel like, 'Who am I?' What Sean learns about himself is as much a surprise to him as it will be for the audience."

Sean appears a little more financially secure than wannabe rock stars. He can afford a couple nice outfits for special occasions such a night at the theater or family dinners, but the edgier wardrobe items are what Horner likes the most. He's not entirely sold on the 90s fashion trend of denim on denim, though.

"The denim on denim was a bit funny. You can't really pull that off today," Horner says.

He references the time when famous Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears showed up to the 2001 American Music Awards in their all-denim outfits as the quintessential denim fashion moment. Horner tried on a few outfits in wardrobe that he thought would work, but had second thoughts when he arrived to set.

Although Horner grew up in Australia during the 1990s, he calls the country fairly Americanized. He watched movies such as "Home Alone" and TV shows like "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," but at age seven he learned a devastating truth.

"I was seven when I realized we weren't part of America. I got really sad. All these wonderful things that Hollywood makes up are in another country, and I can't get there. I can't open up my manhole on the street and expect to see Raphael down there," he laughs.

In the fictional New York of "Hindsight," Horner wants to see Sean develop a "fire in his belly for his career" and prove himself as he moves on from Becca.

"He was too comfortable before, but now he's really got something to prove. I'd like to see him show the world what he's got through his art," he says.

"Hindsight" airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on VH1.
