ISS: NASA Astronaut Terry Virts Reports Water in his Spacesuit Helmet after his Second Spacewalk (VIDEO)

After the second spacewalk for ISS Expedition 42 and second spacewalk for NASA astronaut Terry Virts on Wednesday, Virts reported water in his helmet during airlock repressurization. According to Expedition 42 crew member Samantha Cristoforetti's report to ground control, the water was about 3 inches in diameter.

According to NASA's Space Station blog, no water was reported during the spacewalk and the crew was not in any danger. When the helmet was removed, Cristoforetti reported free floating water inside the helmet as well as a damp absorption pad.

"Ground teams are currently analyzing the situation to confirm the source of the water," according to NASA. Spacesuit #3005 - the suit Virts was wearing - had a similar problem after a December 2013 spacewalk. A "detailed assessment" will be performed prior to the next scheduled spacewalk on Sunday, March 1.
