Rapper Kanye West leaked his video for his controversial song "Black Skinhead" Monday night and pulled it a few hours later, Hollywood.com reports. The song was his first single from his new album "Yeezus." In place of the video is now a gigantic pair of jeans with the label A.P.C. to promote the rapper's collaboration with the French denim designer.
According to several reports there is speculation that the video hasn't been completed yet and that's why it was pulled so suddenly. The really, really dark (literally) video opens with dogs barking and growling and then goes to a barely-visible West. In the three-minute video a very toned West is seen jumping up and down and shape shifting into different things he mentions throughout the song.
That's pretty much the entire video which left many people confused and wondering if the video was a fake and some more work still needs to be done to it. According to Neilson SoundScan, West sold 327,000 copies of "Yeezus" when it was first released but took and 80 percent fall after Wale's "The Gifted" came out. West currently holds the third spot on the Billboard 200 Chart behind J. Cole's "Born Sinner" and Wale.
At the beginning of June, the rapper held a listening party in New York City's meatpacking district where he explained the title of the album, what the album is all about and his promotional strategy for the before letting some of the industry's top people listen to the album, Global Grind reports.
"I wanna explain something about the title 'Yeezus,'" West said. "Simply put West was my slave name and 'Yeezus' is my god name."
As far as a marketing strategy he told people that he had a "new strategy... it's called no strategy" and if he wanted to sell more music then he has to make better music. West ended his speech by saying that "this album is about giving... no fucks at all."
