With season five of HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones" just a few months away, fans are anxiously scouring every crevice of the Internet to get their fix of Westeros and beyond. But whether you're a high born from King's Landing or a street urchin from across the Narrow Sea, you've likely been unsuccessful in unearthing any juicy details. All involved in the show have remained tight lipped about where this next season will take us.
But what about those not directly involved in the show?
Earlier this month, IMDB listed Catelyn Stark actress Michelle Fairley in episode 10 of the upcoming season. TV viewers will remember that Catelyn met her grisly demise back at the Red Wedding. Book readers (Warning: spoilers ahead)...are likely hoping that this return will be in the form of Lady Stoneheart.
Of course, IMDB is infamous for its unreliability and Fairley's camp was quick to shoot down any rumors.
"There hasn't been any discussion about her retuning to the show after season 3," Fairley's representative said. "As of now, this is completely incorrect."
Is this an authentic response or just some good natured posturing? Lady Stoneheart is a fan favorite whose role in the books could prove critical to the ultimate ending of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. And take a look at the trailer for this season. Doesn't the 1:40 mark look vaguely like Lady Stoneheart-esque hand come alive?
"Thornes" showrunners have maintained for quite some time that Lady Stoneheart will not be making an appearance. It is possible that the show could pass on some of her responsibilities to her daughter, Sansa Stark, especially with Littlefinger's eerie "avenge them" in the trailer.
"This [season] definitely tested me quite a bit because it is a challenging season," actress Sophie Turner said. "[Sansa] has changed [in] that she approaches every situation differently, which was just kind of like different to switch into that mentality."
"Game of Thrones" season five will debut on April 12.
