Rapper Bobby Shmurda, in jail facing charges including conspiracy to commit murder, was abruptly cut off during a radio interview Thursday when he began bashing police, MTV reported.
Shmurda, of Brooklyn, was among a group of 15 alleged members of the gang G9 who were hit with a 69-count indictment on Dec. 18, 2014.
Shmurda, real name Ackquille Pollard, and his crew were arrested Dec. 17 "as part of an investigation into shootings and other violent incidents in Brooklyn," the New York Daily News reported.
Facing serious charges ranging from murder to narcotics trafficking, his bail was set at a hefty $2 Million, which his label Epic Records stated [it] would pay to have him released. Since then, the label has backtracked on their statement, and Shmurda has remained in custody with no clear release date in site.
On Thursday, he called in to Hot 97′s "Ebro in the Morning," where he was asked if reports about his arrest were true.
"Nah. What they hearing abut that night is bullshit, it's not true," he told the radio station. "The cops been out for me for forever. They been tryna slay me forever, but they never catch me with nothing. It might be four or five cops that night that grabbed me up, they told me, 'Yo I don't want my kids listening to your music, this and that...'"
At that point, Shmurda's phone connection was dropped.
