The 'Star Trek' community lost its most famous entity early Friday morning when legendary actor Leonard Nimoy, who played Spock in the sci-fi franchise, died due to complications of COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). He was 83 years old.
Celebrities have started flooding Twitter with messages of mourning for Nimoy. He originated the role of the mixed human-Vulcan character of Spock almost 50 years ago when the TV series "Star Trek" premiered in 1966.
