Ghana meets France on Wednesday in the 2013 U20 World Cup semifinal. The match begins at 11 a.m. ET. Watch the live stream HERE.
The semifinal bout is a rematch of the opening Group A game, where France defeated Ghana by a 3-1 score, BBC Sport reports. Ghana then lost to Spain, 1-0. The squad proved resilient, however, by bouncing back to defeat the United States and South Korea, then Portugal in the last 16 and Chile in the quarterfinals.
Ghana manager Sellas Tetteh witnessed his squad develop and mature through the U20 tournament, and he believes the team's match against France will be more competitive this time.
"Since the France game we have played several matches and the progression of the team is clear," Tetteh told BBC Sport. "As time has gone on we have shown we are now prepared to handle them. We know it is not going to be an easy task so we are going to work feverishly.
"We are going to meet a team t hat is in top shape, France have been scoring effortlessly. It is going to be a fierce battle and a very difficult assignment."
Ghana will be hard-pressed to continue its winning streak - the squad is without suspended players Moses Odjer, Joseph Attamah and Lawrence Lartey.
Asked about his club's comeback victories against Portugal and Chile, Tetteh said: "We always say that it is not over until it is over. The team has consciously developed a never-say-die attitude - we need to keep hold of that.
"...We have been working together for a long time so we will be ready. And we have the mental toughness to deal with any situation. We are going to give it our all and refuse to be beaten for a second time."
Wednesday is France's second time in the U20 World Cup semifinals, Goal.com reported. A victory against Ghana will earn the club its first ever appearance in the tournament final.
