Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Episodes: Blair Underwood Comes Into A Crisis

The producers, writers and cast of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D have been keeping secrets about the status of Hydra, Skye's powers and so much more.

Comicbook.com had a great interview with Marvel's Head of Television, Jeph Loeb and Executive Producers Jeff Bell and Jed Whedon, who answered a lot of questions.

The hit show bases a lot of its success on its fans who are loyal to the regular characters, but guest appearances also draw in the newcomers, Bell and Loeb told Comicbook.com. Bell said that the guest actors "are our best special effects this year," and that they've been a "vital part" of the storytelling.

Loeb added that guests like Edward James Olmos, Drea de Matteo and Blair Underwood help make a already gigantic cast "more gigantic."

Bell said that Olmos will stay a mystery, and de Matteo will spend time with Cal.

Loeb said they continually work to find good character combinations, and he hinted that Skye and Mac would "hang out" together. He added that fans really care about the characters and that the amount of interest by fans is an indication of the show's success.

On the future of the popular Skye character, Whedon said how the viewers refer to the character - whether as "Daisy" or "Skye" now that her backstory is known - is a point of view matter.

Whedon said the character regards herself as "Skye," but her father will probably continue to think of her as Daisy. Loeb likened the event to when an adopted child finds out about their history and true birth origins.

For those who haven't been following along, Loeb said that the "cards that were put down in the fall finale" make it a good place to get on board as a follower of the show.

As for the March 17 episode, the official synopsis indicates that Cal will look to have revenge on Coulson and puts together a team of villains to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D., according to Marvel.com. Blair Underwood, who plays Dr. Andrew Garner, will be called upon by May, who brings in her ex-husband as a crisis mounts.

The show airs 9 p.m. ET on the ABC Television Network.
