The E! series "Fashion Police" has narrowed down possible replacements for Kelly Osbourne to two well-known personalities: Khloe Kardashian and Nene Leakes, according to Us Weekly.
The network announced Osbourne's decision to leave on Feb. 27. Her exit followed Giuliana Rancic's disparaging comments made during the post-Oscars telecast about actress Zendaya Coleman's hair.
"Kelly Osbourne is departing E!'s 'Fashion Police' to pursue other opportunities, and we would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit with viewers," E! Entertainment said in a statement.
Rancic made several apologies for saying Zendaya smelled like "patchouli oil" or "weed" because she styled her hair in dreadlocks to walk the red carpet. Osbourne tweeted her displeasure with her co-star and denied adding the "weed" comment because she and Zendaya are friends.
Us Weekly reported that producers allowed the segment three takes despite protests by Osbourne, but E! later denied that claim.
"There was only one take of Giuliana's comments. Kelly did let the group know Zendaya is a friend of hers," an E! rep told Us.
The "Fashion Police" panel has been in flux since the death of its leader Joan Rivers last September. E! named Kathy Griffin the new host in December along with new panelist Brad Goreski.
Leakes was rumored to be in the running for the host position before Griffin got it. The show previously extended an offer to Kardashian to join the panel, but she turned it down. It's "very possible" she will not turn it down this time if she's give the right incentive, according to Us Weekly.
"She may consider doing it again but the offer would have to be really high," the insider says. "It's a lot of extra work for her," an insider told Us.
"Fashion Police" will return with a new episode on Friday, March 30 at 9 p.m.
