Rumors and speculation about the new upcoming "Star Wars" film have run more rampant than a jungle stampede. Every moviegoer is trying to dig up the well-kept secrets of director J.J. Abrams' highly anticipated installment. We've covered a few of those movie rumors so far and today we are back with another one.
Warning: This may contain possible spoilers for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens"
Luke Skywalker's role in this film has been a primary source of interest for months now. Though his involvement in the overall story is still unconfirmed, ScreenRant.com offers a possible snapshot of his role that involves a flashback scene. Actor Robert Boulter is rumored to have joined the cast as a young Luke Skywalker for the scene in question.
"The flashback will take place in a location known as 'Rose's Pub,'" Chris Agar wrote. "Rose is believed to be the character played by Lupita Nyong'o and is someone who would be a Jedi (given what she's capable of)...
"In the scene, Han, Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) visit Rose at her establishment and the four hold hands as Rose tells them her story. This triggers a flashback sequence..."
The flashback is said to show Luke returning to a Jedi temple to find several fellow Jedi murdered. This is rumored to be the catalyst for Luke's self-imposed exile in the new film. However, such a scene would raise a handful of questions.
At the end of "Return of the Jedi," we are led to believe that Luke is arguably the last living Jedi in the galaxy. Did he start a new Jedi Academy to help restore The Order? If so, why was the group attacked? These rumors may be unconfirmed, but they will still spark strong debate among Star Wars loyalists.
