After two years, the second of two men convicted of plotting to rob and murder UK singer Joss Stone was sentenced to 18 years in prison, according to BBC reports.
Junior Bradshaw, 32, was sentenced Tuesday after a series of psychiatric reports delayed any action. The reports found that although Bradshaw suffers from schizophrenia and mental impairment, he was aware of his actions when he was arrested near Stone's home two years ago.
His sentence of 18 years is less than that of co-conspirator Kevin Liverpool, 35, who received a life sentence in April and was deemed the "mastermind" of the plot, according to BBC.
The two men were arrested near Stone's England home in Devon, which lies a few hours outside of London, in June 2011. Police stopped the pair after spotting a suspicious vehicle and found that they were carrying incriminating items including a samurai sword, two hammers, knives and a body bag.
While they were initially charged on possession of weapons, police uncovered notes and text messages from Liverpool that detailed a plan to rob Stone, behead her and dump her body in a river.
According to BBC, the men targeted Stone because of her connection with the Royal Family, and her assumed access to their money. Stone had attended Prince William's wedding a few months prior to the arrests.
"You assumed that as she was a friend of the Royal Family she would be able to give you money of that sort of amount," the presiding judge said of the men's intent to obtain over £1 million from Stone.
With both men behind bars, Stone has no intention of moving and seems fairly calm about the entire ordeal.
"It was a bit harsh and a little bit odd," she recently told a UK radio station of the plot. "I can make my music, do the job. I live here and have all these lovely things and sing with all these lovely people."
Stone is currently busy promoting her album "The Soul Sessions: Vol. 2."
