NBA Free Agency Rumors 2013: Bucks Done with Jennings; Look to Sign Jeff Teague

Free agent point guard Jeff Teague is expected to sign an offer sheet from the Milwaukee Bucks for a four-year, $32 million deal, according to ESPN.com citing sources.

The Atlanta Hawks will have three days to match the offer, after Teague signs the offer sheet.

Two of the Hawks biggest pieces, forward Josh Smith and coach Larry Drew, are no longer with the team. The negotiations between Teague and the team have been terrible. Also, Drew—the new coach of the Bucks—was a part of the recruitment process for the Bucks, according to league sources.

If all goes according to the Bucks plans they will have Teague, point guard Luke Ridnour (the Bucks plan to acquire him from the Minnesota Timberwolves) and guard O.J. Mayo who has already agreed to sign with the team.

This most likely means the Bucks have not included guard Brandon Jennings in their future plans. Teague and Mayo are both starters and Ridnour has the skills to be starter. However, the former Timberwolves point guard will most likely be the sixth man off the bench.

Teague has improved every year since coming into the league in 2009. In the 2012-2013 regular season he averaged 14.6 points and 7.2 assists. He is an athletic point guard who can break down the defense and has spent time working on his outside shot.

The Bucks seemed to be creating an entirely new backcourt. Last season their backcourt featured J.J. Redick, Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings. It seems this season it will feature Mayo, Teague and Ridnour.
