It's 7-Eleven's Free Slurpee Day.
Once a year, the gods of comped frozen beverages smile upon us, to grant us this day, our daily blue raspberry.
And this time, the convenience store chain is doing things a bit differently, upping the stakes by pushing social media interaction and a dance party theme for 2013.
From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. return to afternoons of yesteryear, when your parents allowed you to choose any flavor of Slurpee your young heart desired-whether it was the Coca-Cola kind, red cherry, or Mountain Dew (however brief a stint), there was unspeakable joy felt when you pulled that swivelling lever.
7-Eleven Day, which falls on July 11 annually, will also feature larger Slurpees this year-instead of 11 oz. cups, fill up a 12 oz. guy.
Additionally, the chain is urging customers to tag @Slurpee or #Slurpeedance for the first time in 7-Eleven Day history, integrating the Internet into their marketing strategy.
Here's a list of all the 7-Eleven locations in Manhattan, New York City, so you can get your fill of the icy drink today.
