Giorgio Armani Blames Madonna for Brit Awards Fall, Saying, She ‘Is Very Difficult’

Remember Madonna's epic fall during the 2015 Brit Awards? Well, according to fashion designer Giorgio Armani, the singer only has herself to blame.

While the "Material Girl" singer said she was fine after the embarrassing and painful fall onstage last week, she blamed the incident on the cape she was wearing, claiming that it was tied too tight around her neck.

"Everybody was worried that my cape was going to slide off because it's quite heavy, so they tied it really tight around my neck...So here I am marching in like a queen, and I got to the top of the stairs and I pulled my silky string, and it would not come undone," the 56-year-old recalled on Britain's "The Jonathan Ross Show." "And my two lovely Japanese dancers basically strangled me off the stage. I had a choice: I could either be strangled or fall with the cape, and I fell."

Now, Armani, who designed Madge's bullfighter cape, is defending is creation, calling the singer "difficult" and saying the incident was her own fault.

"Madonna, as we know, is very difficult," the 56-year-old designer said, via People. "This cape had a hook and she wanted a tie, and she wasn't able to open it with her hands. That's all there is to it."

After her performance of her single "Living for Love," Madonna posted an illustration of the cape she wore on her Instagram account, with the caption, "Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I'm fine! #livingforlove."

While the Internet made the pop star the butt of several memes, Marge claimed that she did suffer from whiplash after her fall.

"I had a little bit of a whiplash, and I smacked the back of my head. So, there was a man standing over me with a flashlight until about 3 a.m. making sure that I was still compos mentis," she explained.
