One of the most essential things to Taylor Swift's career is her legs, so the pop-star is reportedly planning to insure them for $40 million.
''It seems like a ludicrous sum, but if something was to happen to her legs, Swift wouldn't be able to give her signature stage performances," a source revealed to the National Enquirer. ''Her $200 million career would be in big trouble.''
The source told the Enquirer that while Swift was initially shocked by the amount her legs are worth, she is still having her team file the paperwork to have her long legs insured.
"She thought her legs were possibly worth a million," the source told the Enquirer. "But $40 million shocked her. She's even a little embarrassed about it."
She decided to continue the process to have her legs insured after learning what they are worth because they are vital to her career as a performer.
"If anything happened to her legs, Taylor wouldn't be able to give her dynamic, signature stage performances," the source told the Enquirer.
Swift plans to have the paperwork completed by her world tour, which begins in May.
Although it may seem crazy to insure body parts, this is nothing new for A-listing celebrities who rely on their bodies for their career.
Way before Taylor Swift was even a thing Dolly Parton insured her chest for $600,000; Bette Davis insured her waist for $28,000; Rihanna insured her legs for $1 million; Madonna insured her breasts for $2 million; Bruce Springsteen insured his vocal chords for $6 million; Julia Roberts insured her smile for $30 million; and David Beckham insured his legs for $70 million, according to Business Insider.
