While Teresa Giudice is serving her 15-month sentence in Danbury Federal Correction Institution - the same location the popular Netflix drama "Orange is the New Black" was filmed - her husband Joe has stepped up to the plate and is doing just fine with managing their four daughters: Gia, 14, Gabriella, 10, Milania, 9, and Audriana, 5.
Joe and Teresa were found guilty of mail, wire and tax fraud and Teresa began her sentence on Jan. 5 after the New Year.
Sister-in-law Melissa Gorga, who is married to Teresa's brother Joe, appeared on "Watch What Happens Live" on March 8 to give an update on the Giudice family.
She told host Andy Cohen that Teresa, 42, is "doing well."
"My mother-in-law gives me updates all the time. She's doing really good," she said.
Melissa and Joe Gorga have been in contact with Teresa - though limited; Melissa wrote her a letter and Joe spoke to her on the phone, according to Us Weekly.
Forty two-year-old Joe Giudice is keeping busy tending to his children, but his wife's absence is "heavy on his heart," Gorga told Cohen.
"It's a lot," she said when referring to Joe's responsibilities without his wife.
Joe will begin his 41-month sentence once Teresa is released.
Gorga also disputed rumors that Teresa had been making enemies in prison and was working on a novel about her experiences while being locked up.
"I pass him in the morning, and he's driving the girls to school. And I usually pass Teresa every morning," Gorga said while holding back tears.
"It's heartwarming to see him. He's manning up, and he's doing what he has to do."
