"Scandal" will soon pull back the curtain on the life of Cyrus Beene, who dedicates most of his time to serving the President of the United States.
The ABC show will dive into Cyrus' (Jeff Perry) past in a series of flash back scenes that will feature his late husband James Novak (Dan Bucatinsky) as well as his never-before-seen wife, who he married before coming out.
"I know who's playing [his wife], but I'm not allowed to talk about it," Perry told Entertainment Weekly. "Shonda [Rhimes] wrote a really Cyrus-centric episode. How did this man come to be this man? She wanted to go into three or four different time periods of his experience. A couple of them are about James and Cyrus and they even have a bit of a reverberation and a facet of something that haunts Cyrus."
The episode also brings back Matthew Del Negro's character Michael, the prostitute Cyrus picked up earlier this season. The two may have to marry to explain the explicit photos of the two leaked to the media in the "Scandal" winter finale.
Also in the present, Kate Burton will return as disgraced Vice President Sally Langston and George Newbern will reprise his role as Charlie, the B613 hitman and Quinn's (Katie Lowes) love interest. Paul Adelstein also shows up as Leo Bergen, the campaign consultant and love interest to Abby (Darby Stanchfield).
"Scandal" airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
