Colorado House Set On Fire With 'My Wife Is A Cheater' Painted Outside

A suspect apparently bent on revenge wrote the message "My wife is a cheater" before setting a Colorado house on fire early Tuesday morning.

The accused male arsonist, whose name has not been released, was arrested later Tuesday morning, The Denver Post reported.

Residents of Arvada called firefighters to report explosions from a house on Nelson Street at around 1:30 a.m., the Arvada Fire Protection District told the newspaper. Responders arrived to find the home engulfed in flames.

"They were faced with a lot of fire that was coming from the front of the house as well as the back of the house," Deputy Fire Marshall Deanna Harrington told The Denver Post. "There was debris in the street- some patio furniture."

The words "My wife is a cheater" were found spray-painted in two areas outside the house.

There were no injuries to any of the home's occupants, who were not there at the time of the fire, family members told 7 News Denver. But the damage done to the home was so severe it prevented firefighters from entering the structure, Harrington told The Denver Post.

No other details of the incident have been released and investigators are still looking into what caused the fire.
