The NFL's 2015-16 league year is less than an hour old and already there's been a momentous flurry of activity and trades.
One situation that has seen little to no movement thus far is that of free agent cornerback Darrelle Revis, most recently of the New England Patriots.
While the Patriots have voiced their desire to see the All-Pro corner return to the fold next season, a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN paints the picture of a player set to head elsewhere.
"Sense out of New England is that Darrelle Revis is likely to be a Jet, per sources. NE still will make final push. Not over yet," Schefter tweeted.
Revis is still the game's premier cover cornerback, thriving in situations wherein he's alone on an island with a receiver.
He began his NFL career as a member of the New York Jets and, if Schefter's report is accurate, could end it there.
While that may initially seem like good news for fans of the Jets, forced to endure the worst display of cornerbacking in the NFL last season, the deal that Revis is reportedly looking to snag is significant to say the least.
"Sources tell me that Darrelle Revis wants 40 million guaranteed and Woody Johnson wants to make this happen," Dianna Marie Russini of NBC4 in Washington tweeted.
$40 million guaranteed is unbelievable, even for a player of Revis' immeasurable talents.
If Johnson is willing to pony up the dough though, the Jets depth chart at cornerback just got a whole lot healthier and their payroll just got a whole lot heftier.
