Do you need a pair of biking gloves that use LED lights to signal turns with? No? Well, now you do! And the only place to get such a device is on Amazon's new store chain; the Amazon Exclusive.
The e-commerce giant announced its new online stores on Thursday, better known as "Amazon Exclusives", which will offer creative product designers and entrepreneurs a new venue for selling their products to a new audience.
"Our mission on behalf of customers is to make Amazon the destination for brands and innovators to launch and sell their products, providing our customers early access to new products," Amazon Marketplace VP Peter Varicy said in a press release.
Hence, Amazon Exclusive. The company wants to provide users with access to outlets for finding unique and innovative products that aren't available anywhere else. All products featured on Amazon Exclusive are either exclusive to Amazon, or are just available on the vendor's original site.
Amazon currently hosts products from iPhone accessory developer Olloclip, Venezuelan shoe designer Hot Chocolate Designs, fitness clothing designer Tower and portable battery developer Jackery. Many of the brands that Amazon is featuring also appeared on ABC's entrepreneur reality show "Shark Tank."
If this store becomes popular enough, it will hopefully open up for other companies. However, Amazon has not mentioned how it will choose which brands are Amazon Exclusive compatible and which ones aren't.
