Florida 'Dinosaur'-Size Alligator Goes For Stroll On Golf Course

A massive alligator became an Internet success after photos of the beast seen roaming a Florida golf course went viral on Wednesday.

Photos of the "dinosaur"-looking lizard were snapped by two senior members of the Myakka Pines Golf Club, who spotted the alligator going for a stroll while playing on the course's seventh hole, NBC News reported.

Dick Huber, a member of the club in Englewood, Florida, said he didn't think the photos he took would generate hundreds of thousands of views on Facebook.

"I'm just a little guy, but it's kind of fun to see the exposure we're getting here," Huber told ESPN.

The gator is an estimated 12 or 13 feet long, prompting many on social media to question if the images were Photoshopped. But the club's general manager, Mickie Zada, said it's hardly the biggest one they've seen.

Many other alligators have paid a visit to their golf course, Zada told ESPN.

"We have a lot of alligators around here because there are no houses for miles and it's just open swamp land," she said.

"Our members know that when they see a good one, to take pictures. And they did."
