West Indies meets Pakistan on Sunday in the first of the five-match ODI Series. The match begins at 9 a.m. ET (07:00 p.m. IST). Watch the live stream HERE.
West Indies didn't qualify for the Champions Trophy semifinal, and the team was knocked out of the Tri-Series featuring India and Sri Lanka, who snagged the final spot on a net run rate difference, IB Times reports. West Indies has home advantage.
West Indies will sport its same squad from the recent Tri-Series, with the exception of Denish Ramdin (dropped) and possibly Ravi Rampaul (sidelined).
The team's batting line-up contains Chris Gayle, Johnson Charles, Kieron Pollard, Marlon Samuels and Devon Smith. Sunil Narine, Kemar Roach, Darren Bravo and Darren Smith.
Pakistan hasn't played much better. The squad failed to make a dent in the Champions Trophy - in fact, the team failed to earn a single win in the tournament. A win over West Indies in the bilateral series will help fans forget Pakistan's recent slump. Anything less than a competitive bout in the series could result in some terminations.
Pakistan will use a squad similar to the one used in the Champions league, with the exceptions of Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Malik and Imran Farhat - they're replaced by Shahid Afridi, Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shahzad.
Nasir Jamshed, Mohammad Hafeez, Asad Shafiq and Misbah-ul-Haq are included in Pakistan's batting lineup; Junaid Khan, Asad Ali, Ehsan Adil, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Hafeez and Abdur Rehman are the squad's bowlers.
West Indies has fared slightly better in its history against Pakistan. Out of 120 matches, West Indies is 67-52 with two ties.
IB Times predicts West Indies to win.
