The highest grossing animated film of all-time is getting a sequel.
Disney announced its plans for "Frozen 2" on Thursday at the company's annual shareholders meeting in San Francisco, according to the LA Times.
Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, the directors from the first film, will stay on for the sequel. The only character that has been announced to return so far is Olaf, the snowman.
The success of "Frozen" in the box office and across the board for Disney made the plans for a sequel an easy decision.
The first film brought in $1.2 billion worldwide, $200,000,000 more than the second-highest grossing animated film ever, "Toy Story 3," according to BoxOfficeMojo.com.
The franchise's animated short, "Frozen Fever," will be screened in theaters this weekend ahead of Disney's live-action take on "Cinderella."
"Frozen 2" does not yet have a release date.
