Will Ferrell made baseball history during today's games in the MLB's Cactus League. The actor played all nine positions and suited up for 10 teams as he was helicoptered to each game to make an appearance.
Ferrell declined all press interviews before taking the field and said, "I can't talk. I'm in beast mode." He appeared in spring training as part of new HBO special from Funny Or Die in partnership with Major League Baseball to support the fight against cancer.
Look no further. Here are all the highlights from Ferrell's day on the diamond.
The 47-year-old rookie kicked off the day playing shortstop for the Oakland Athletics.
Then A's General Manager Billy Beane did what he does best and traded Ferrell to the Seattle Mariners, where he took over at second base.
Next up was the Los Angeles Angels, where he relieved the reigning AL MVP Mike Trout in center field. No big.
Then the Chicago Cubs had enough with their current youth movement and decided to throw Ferrell into the batter's box...
And instead figured third base coach would better suit his abilities.
Unfortunately, Ferrell fell behind schedule and his time with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cincinnati Reds was cut short.
But he coached a bit for the Reds, depending on how you define "coaching"...
Then he offered everyone hot dogs during his short stint with the D-Backs.
Next he helicoptered off to the matchup between the Chicago White Sox and San Francisco Giants, where he served as a pinch hitter for Chicago in the bottom of the ninth and then took over at catcher for San Francisco.
In the last game of the evening, he took the hill for the Los Angeles Dodgers and unveiled his infamous "slurge" pitch that he said he learned in Japan. It was no match for Clayton Kershaw's curveball.
Finally, he took over in right field for the Padres (which you can see towards the end of this video) and watched a home run fly over his head and into the stands. He thanked the crowd for his epic day and that was a wrap.
