*******SPOILER ALERT*******
Normally we would never consider asking you to click away from HNGN to go elsewhere but we really must insist, if you haven't watched this past Sunday's episode of "True Blood" you're not going to want to keep reading. Not only are there scary stories about Vampires and Werewolves but there are even more frightening spoilers ahead. You have been warned.
What a difference a week can make. When we left Bon Temps last week Sookie was about to blast Warlow to smithereens with her super-faery-light-ray-gun power; at the end of this week she is being drowned in the bayou.
Sookie learns that while Warlow killed her parents he did so only to save her from them. Apparently Sookie's dad did not like having a faery daughter and was planning to drown her in the bayou. So, at least for now, it appears as if Warlow actually has good intentions toward our heroine. Although, like everything else in this show, don't surprised if that flip-flops again by next week.
When everyone in your life has some sort of magical ability it can definitely be beneficial. Instead of taking Warlow's word for things Sookie has the ability, through Lafayette, to directly call out her parents for wanting to kill her. For a split second one thinks that the séance is going to be a tearful reunion of Sookie and her parents as she finds out that Warlow is the devil and there is no way they would ever do harm to their child....nope. Sookie's dad takes over Lafayette and next thing we know Sookie is being held underwater by her possessed friend.
Sookie's life was not the only one teetering on edge when the episode faded to black. Pam and Eric have not only ended up in the Governor's vampire camp, they are being forced to battle each other with stakes. Every detail that had been shared about the vampire camp had pointed to it being ominous and not good for our fanged friends. That being said, having two of the pillars of the show being forced to fight to the death was still a huge surprise.
Pam had shown flashes of her old, hateful self earlier in the episode while she was being interviewed by a psychologist. While she gave some details about vampires in exchange for a meal the contempt she showed for humans was fantastic. It will be really interesting to see what happens when we return to the fight; it would be quite a shock to lose either Eric or Pam.
Andy was visibly distraught when he found out what happened to his faery daughters. Luckily one of them is still alive and he was able to nurse her back to health with some vampire blood. Sadly, I think this is going to lead to the bumbling sheriff joining in with the anti-vampire crusade. Andy is at his best when he's a little bit of comic relief, not sure how it will work out for him to be a bad guy.
What is definitely the weakest story line of the season, Arlene and Terry and their guilt over killing Patrick, continues to crawl along at a snail's pace. Sure, there was a twist to it with Terry calling in a friend from out of the blue and asking him to kill him, but it's really hard to care about this story line at all. They seem to only spend 2 to 3 minutes a week with it and it feels like no thought has been in put toward it. Terry is a great character who can be a load of fun when used correctly; it seems like such a waste to have him involved in such a dark story line that the writers don't seem to care about.
Next week may very well open up with one of the main characters getting the axe: Pam, Eric and Sookie all might meet their maker, as difficult as that is to believe. It also appears as if Bill and Warlow are the only two vampires left outside of the camp, it will be interesting to see where their relationship goes from here on out.
