A horde of screaming fan boys rejoiced over Capcom's announcement during Evo 2013 of the latest upgrade to its legendary fighting series, "Ultra Street Fighter IV."
During their panel at Evo 2013, Capcom revealed to fans that "Ultra Street Fighter 4" will be released to stores early 2014. Though no official release date was announced, Capcom did give players a sneak peak for what's to come in the newest "Street Fighter" in a game trailer.
Capcom added five new playable characters from all Capcom's Street Fighter x Tekken game added to the "Street Fighter" roster:
Hugo Andore, a German farmer and Final Fight veteran, East African princess Elena, who is a doctor and Japanese exchange student, Final Fight veteran Poison, another Final Fight veteran Rolento, wearing his signature red scarf and beret, and a fifth character Capcom says has "never been in a Street Fighter game before."
According to IGN, existing characters will be "adjusted to level the playing field."
"A lot of feedback was sifted through to find the best ways to balance the characters in the SF4 update. Top players from the US and Japan were consulted, as well as all the wonderful feedback provided through the Capcom Unity forums and Capcom Japan surveys," according to Capcom's UnityBlog.
Capcom also added six new arenas: Pitstop 109, Mad Gear Hideout, Cosmic Elevator, Blast Furnace, Half Pipe, and Jurassic Era Research Facility.
"Ultra Street Fighter IV" will cost $14.99 to upgrade for owners of Super Street Fighter IV or Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. It will also be available at full price for $39.99 and users will receive all previous costume DLC released for the series.
The new "Street Fighter" game will be available on the PS3, 360 and PC. According to IGN, there will be pre-order bonuses include costumes from Udon.
