No. 1 Kentucky improved to 33-0 on the season after a 91-67 win over Auburn. Wildcats forward Willie Cauley-Stein led the team with 18 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, and guard Andrew Harrison added 15 points, two of Kentucky's five players to score in the double-digits.
The win put Kentucky within just one game of becoming the eighth team in history to head into the NCAA tournament with a perfect record since 1938, according to ESPN. While the win would also give Kentucky its first SEC tournament title since winning in back-to-back years in 2010-11, coach John Calipari is more concerned with his team putting forth the best effort it can.
"I'll live with the results if we're at our best, if we have high energy, if we're creating," coach John Calipari said. "Maybe we have a bad shooting day. You don't know how this stuff plays out. I want them just focused on being at your best."
No. 21 Arkansas, meanwhile, earned a spot in the SEC final after its 60-49 win over Georgia. The 26-7 Razorbacks were led by guard Michael Qualls's 15 points and forward Bobby Portis's 12 rebounds, helping to put the team into a position to upset the unbeaten Wildcats.
"It's going to be a great opportunity, but it's a tremendous challenge to play against the best team in the country," coach Mike Anderson said. "I feel we're a much better team than when we played them early in the year."
