The 2015 American Men's Championship will be decided on Sunday between the Connecticut Huskies and the SMU Mustangs. Watch the AAC Championship final at 3:15 p.m. ET via the live stream, or listen to the radio broadcast below.
No. 20 SMU earned a spot in Sunday's final after handing Temple a 69-56 loss on Saturday. Mustangs forward Markus Kennedy led the team in scoring with 17 points, and big men Cannen Cunningham and Yanick Moreira added 11 points apiece, with guard Sterling Brown leading the rebounding efforts with 10.
SMU, now with a chance to win the AAC championship, hopes it will be enough to earn a spot in the 2015 NCAA Tournament.
"People could say we got snubbed (last year), but at the end of the day we lost games we should not have lost," Brown said, via ESPN. "This year we are trying to take advantage of every game. We wanted to dictate our own fate."
Connecticut, meanwhile, advanced to the final following a comeback in Sunday's semifinal against Tulsa. The Huskies rallied from a 10-point deficit to win 47-42, thanks partly to guard Ryan Boatright's 21 points and swingman Daniel Hamilton's 12 rebounds and five assists.
Connecticut is unranked and knows a loss on Sunday would likely end its big for a spot in the upcoming NCAA tournament.
"It's a scenario where we lose and we don't get a bid," said Huskies coach Kevin Ollie. "We feel not the pressure, but we feel the opportunity."
