The beef between Marvel and DC isn't just among anonymous Internet trolls and die-hard comic book fans. It also involves the big screen heroes themselves. Or, at least the actors that portray them.
Yesterday, it was reported that fan Liz Guadiana met Jason Momoa, who will play Aquaman in 2016's "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," at the Indiana Comic-Con. Momoa was signing autographs when Guadiana handed him an Aquaman poster to sign and asked if he could "write down a reason why all these DC haters out there should join our DC universe?"
So what did the King of Atlantis have to say?
"F**k Marvel," Momoa surmised succinctly.
The proverbial shot has been fired, indeed.
No, it wasn't the classiest move in the world. But with Marvel's considerable head start in cinematic world building and prodigious box office performances, can you really blame the guy?
