'The Jinx' Director Cancels All Interviews Amid Possibility of Testifying at Robert Durst's Trial

Andrew Jarecki, director of HBO's six-part documentary "The Jinx," has cancelled all upcoming interviews with media outlets.

Reporters that have requested to talk to Jarecki were sent a message explaining why, which highlights the fact that the director will likely be a witness in Robert Durst's upcoming trial. Buzzfeed's Kate Aurthur made the notice public on her Twitter account.

Jarecki gave interviews on Monday morning before reporters received that notice. He appeared on both CBS' and ABC's morning shows and talked about the stunning finale of "The Jinx" in which Durst seemingly admits to three murders off-camera while his microphone is still on. Jarecki was also interviewed by The New York Times.

Sunday night's final episode of the documentary perfectly coincided with Durst's Saturday arrest on first-degree murder charges stemming from the death of his close friend, Susan Berman, in Los Angeles, 15 years ago. Despite the perfect timing, Jarecki said on "Good Morning America" that there is no connection between the time of the arrest and the season finale.

"We don't have that kind of power," he said.
