Avalanche has released the first "Mad Max" gameplay trailer, but there are few scenes where of actual game footage is shown.
Below is the game's synopsis according to their official webstie:
Play as Mad Max, a lone warrior who must embark on a dangerous journey after his Interceptor is stolen by a deadly gang of marauders. A reluctant hero with an instinct for survival, Max wants nothing more than to leave the madness behind and find solace in the storied "Plains of Silence".
Unlike the "Grand Theft Auto V" trailer released last week, there are short frames of video that "might correspond to what you'd see while directly interacting with the finished product, but for the most you're getting in-engine scenes of the bits in between the playing," according to PC Gamer.
The cut-scenes and cinematic clips barely show the face of "Mad Max" as he roams about deserted areas. A PC Gamer reporter chimed in about his thoughts of the trailer.
"While the presentation doesn't do much for me, the chance of another Avalanche open world game does," PC Gamer reports. "I'm not expecting anything near the sublime elegance of the infinite parachute/grappling hook combo here, but if even a portion of that game's sense of fun and bombast can shine through, it should be a good time."
"Mad Max" was unveiled during E3 this year, and will be released in 2014 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles.
On July 3, Avalanche Studios confirmed the "Mad Max" game will feature a protagonist with an Australian accent.
According the a press release published on PlayStation Universe, many fans of the franchise were disappointed when Avalanche gave Max a "generic U.S. voiceover."
Gamers started a petition to have Max's accent changed, and Avalanche took note of the fans' outrage.
Avalanche's Christofer Sundberg confirmed on Twitter, "Attn. fans who want Max to have an Aussie accent in #MadMaxGame : It shall be so. We admire your loyalty. You have been heard."
