Amid several rumors making the rounds about where David Beckham is heading to, after his six-year stint at Los Angeles Galaxy, the English football legend said he plans to own a football team in the future.
Talking on the Ryan Seacrest show, Beckham said, "That (taking over a club) will obviously come into play now. It only came into play once I finished playing here. I'm excited about that. My commitment when I came here six years ago was to take this league to another level, and my commitment stays the same. I might not be playing here but I will become an owner of a franchise and it's something that I'm excited about. We're close to a decision on that, but I can't say it right now."
The former English captain announced that he would end his Galaxy career at the Major League Soccer (MLS) with his final match against the Houston Dynamo on Saturday. However, he said he will stay true to his commitment both as an owner of a franchise and a cheerleader for North American soccer.
Beckham's future move has been a hot topic of discussion ever since his announcement and according to many speculations, Beckham would be moving to any place including the mega rich Paris Saint-Germain, his home town club Leyton Orient, AS Monaco, QPR, or to one of his former teams. It is also reported that the 37-year-old footballer is getting offers from clubs in the Australian A League and the financially tempting Chinese Super League. However, he seems not to have made up his mind on his next move but once again confirmed that he is leaving Galaxy not because of any problems with the management or coaching staff, but that he just loves a challenge.
