Tommy Lasorda is one of baseball's legends and currently works in the Los Angeles Dodgers front office. He's been with the team at their spring training facility, and a video posted on his Instagram account on Monday shows that he might be doing a bit more partying than consulting.
In perhaps one of the more uncomfortable videos social media has graced us with in 2015, Lasorda was recorded dancing and singing to Lil Jon's hit "Turn Down For What." Although it may seem unusual, the rapper's music video featured a number of unlikely characters dancing to his hit tune, so maybe Lasorda's performance wasn't all that bizarre.
Actually, it was.
Lasorda had a short stint as a professional ballplayer, but his claim to fame was his success as manager for the Dodgers from 1976-1996. The 87-year-old led Los Angeles to four NL Pennants and two World Series titles during his tenure and has remained with the organization in various other roles in the years that followed, including Vice President, General Manager, Senior Vice President and his current role, Special Advisor to the Chairman.
However, his eccentric behavior is no surprise to those who are familiar him when he managed the Dodgers, as you can see here when he beat up a mascot.
... And when he freaked out on the umpires when Reggie Jackson interfered in the base path when the Dodgers tried to turn a double-play.
He also has a number of profanity-laced rants, which we will refrain from posting, so you can go check them out on your own time. Nonetheless, Lasorda remains one of the more intriguing figures in baseball history and his latest video further proves that.
