Jerramy Stevans, a former NFL tight end and the current husband of US Women's soccer goalie Hope Solo, was charged with driving under the influence on Monday after being arrested in the Los Angeles area earlier this year, the Las Vegas Review Journal reports.
Stevens, 35, was hit with one misdemeanor count each of drunken driving and driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol content. Both come within 10 years of a previous DUI, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said.
Stevens, who resides in the Seattle-area city of Kirkland, was arrested on Jan. 19 after he was pulled over by a Manhattan Beach police officer who noticed he was driving without headlights. Solo, who was a member of the gold-medal winning Olympic teams in 2008 and 2012, was in the car with Stevens at the time.
Officers obtained a search warrant to get a blood sample after Stevens refused to take a chemical blood or breath test. The prosecutor said that he had a BAC of .15 percent or more.
Stevens faces a maximum possible sentence of one year in county jail if convicted.
Stevens played nine seasons for the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Reports claim that he was driving a U.S. women's National Soccer team van when he was arrested and that Solo was in the van with him at the time. She was suspended for 30 days by U.S. Soccer after the incident.
