‘Batman V Superman’ RUMORS: Joker & Doomsday Joining Lex Luthor as Main Villains?

We know that "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" is going to feature a lot of superheroes. Obviously, the titular Batman and Superman will take center stage. But Wonder Woman, Aquaman and possibly Cyborg will all be involved to some degree as well.

What we don't know is how DC's famous villains play into all of this. Jesse Eisenberg has been cast as Lex Luthor for the upcoming film, though it is unknown how big his role is. Even if he is the Big Bad, he doesn't offer much in the way of a physical challenge. Fans hoping for action-packed fight scenes could be left disappointed.

Some rumors have suggested that Jared Leto, who will play The Joker in "Suicide Squad," could possibly be an antagonist in this film. But that would seem unlikely as principal photography has already wrapped on "Batman V Superman" and Joker will likely be kept for the eventual Batman solo film.

What about the infamous Doomsday? He would be far and away the most physically imposing villain to grace the DC Cinematic Universe. The dangerous threat he poses would make sense as a catalyst forcing Batman and Superman to join forces. Unfortunately, no officials casting on a Doomsday role has ever been revealed.

Perhaps the simplest answer is the right one.

"Though it's continually rumored that Joker or Doomsday (an ancient Kryptonian beast who once killed Superman in a famous story arc) could be a secret second villain alongside Lex Luthor, there's been no news of Jared Leto joining the film or any actors who might portray Doomsday," Adam Bellotto of Venture Capital Post wrote. "It's much more likely that Lex Luthor is our one villain, and that as far as any kind of physical combatants go, we'll probably be seeing fight sequences between Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, before they finally unite to form the Justice League."
