Missing New Jersey Mom Erica Crippen Found Dead, Bound In Rural Maryland, Officials Say

The body of a missing New Jersey woman believed to have been killed by her husband in late December was discovered on Tuesday in what prosecutors called the "ultimate evil" result of a domestic violence case.

Erica Crippen, a 26-year-old mother of two from Mount Laurel, was found dead and bound with electrical cord and duct tape in a small gathering of trees about 30 miles northwest of Baltimore, Md., Burlington County prosecutors told the New York Daily News.

Her 28-year-old husband, Kyle Crosby, was already arrested for his wife's murder, but her body was never found until investigators followed GPS data from his truck that led to a grove in rural Sykesville, Md.

Burlington County Prosecutor Robert Bernardi said Crippen's family can now lay their loved one to rest. She leaves behind an infant and 7-year-old daughter.

"The result in this case was the ultimate evil," Bernardi said according to the Daily News. "Kyle Crosby took the life of his wife, the woman he pledged to love and honor. We will seek justice for Erica, but that will never erase the pain of her loss so strongly by her family."

Crippen was reportedly last seen with her husband at a restaurant on New Year's Eve. Crosby reported his wife missing the next day but vanished a few days later. He was driving his wife's car when he was tracked down and arrested Jan. 12 in Brooklawn, N.J.

He remains held on $1.2 million bail, the newspaper reported.

Police also arrested Crosby's mother, Jo, this week for allegedly helping her son cover up his crime by deleting evidence from her cellphone. She was released on $12,500 bail.
