The wait is over! Since Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively gave birth to their daughter in December, the couple has stayed relatively mum about the newborn's name - until now.
The couple named their daughter James.
Reynolds made the confession during an interview on NBC's "Today" show, but not before having some fun with the name-guessing game, saying, "It is Butternut Summer Squash."
"No, it's out there. It's James," the 38-year-old actor said. "Everyone knows and I told everyone who would listen that."
The actor had a good reason for keeping his daughter's name secret, saying, "Before it was out there I didn't want to be the first guy screaming it out to the media because as we know, little girls turn into teenage girls and little teenage girls sometimes scan through the archives and go, 'Why did you do that?'"
Since the baby's arrival, rumors claimed that the couple had named their daughter Violent, but the "Woman in Gold" actor quickly dismissed those rumors.
"No, that's not the name. I don't want to get into that, but I don't know where that came from," Reynolds said.
The newborn has yet to make a public appearance, but Reynolds has revealed some facts about his daughter, saying she's "totally average" compared to other babies and is "allergic to sleep."
"I don't sleep very much. It's great. It's wonderful. But my brain is elsewhere." he told "Today". "It's still so new that it's hard to conceive being away for more than seven hours at a time. I had to go to Sundance this last week. I was more excited to get a good night's sleep. It was borderline pornographic for me."
