The Indiana Hoosiers play the Wichita State Shockers in Friday's Round of 64. Tipoff for the 2015 NCAA Tournament second-rounder is at 2:45 p.m. ET; links to the free live stream and to the free radio broadcast are provided below.
No. 7 seed Wichita State had its nine-game winning streak ended Saturday in a 65-62 loss to Illinois State in the Missouri Valley Conference semifinals. Still, Wichita State's 20-13 record was good enough for the NCAA selection committee to reward the team with its fourth straight tournament berth. The Shockers have five players returning from last year's team, which lost to Kentucky by two points in the third round, but coach Greg Marshall doesn't believe having that kind of experience on his roster will give his team much of an advantage in March.
"I just witnessed UAB, which probably has zero NCAA tournament experience, beat Iowa State, which has tons of NCAA experience," Marshall told the Associated Press. "Once the ball is tossed, I don't think it means that much at all. It's just another game."
Indiana point guard Kevin Ferrell, however, disagrees.
"Them being in the tournament the past couple years, that will help them," said Ferrell, the only Hoosier player who's played significant minutes in an NCAA Tournament game. "They've got more feel to the game and a little bit more feel to the big stage. We've got to come out of the gate early and swing hard, not get too hyped up about the big stage."
The Hoosiers' last March Madness appearance was in 2013. Although their 20-13 season was good enough to earn them a No. 10 seed, most of Indiana's 13 losses came down the stretch of the season, with Indiana losing nine of its last 14 games. The Hoosiers reached the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament before losing to Maryland.
