McDonald's Wedding Reception: British Couple Hosting Fast Food Nuptials, 'You're Meant to Be the Center Of Attention On Your Wedding Day' (PHOTOS)

Starting a life together as a married couple is filled with joy and excitement, a time for plenty of celebration, but a McDonald's restaurant is probably not the first thing you'd think of when it comes to newlyweds. Nonetheless, that's exactly the place a young British couple will hold their wedding reception after saying, "I do," the Daily Mail reports.

Steven Asher, 27, and Emily Marshall, 20, will hold their fast food reception at their favorite McDonald's branch in Cribbs Causeway, Bristol, England on July 27. The couple will arrive to the fast food chain in a stretch limousine and dine with their wedding guests in a special area roped off just for the occasion.

"A lot of people have said 'McDonald's?' but we just reply 'Why not?'", Asher said to the Daily Mail. A worker at a warehouse for a chilled food company, the doting fiance wanted to make his wedding to his bride-to-be as "memorable as possible."

What about alcohol, you may ask? Fast food fans Asher and Marshall hope that the restaurant will allow them a champagne toast, though they'll settle for lemonade if they can't get the restaurant to temporarily lift the booze ban.

"It is something different and we like to do things a bit differently," Asher said, adding that it's his fiancee's favorite: "If we ever go out for lunch I always ask her where she wants to go and she always says McDonald's.

"Even when I say to her that it can be somewhere posh she still picks McDonald's. And we have a saying - what my princess wants, my princess gets."

When they can afford it, the Bristol couple dines at McDonald's twice a week, and for their special day, they plan to feast on McDonald's famous chicken mcnuggets, burgers, fries and a "Legend's Meal," which consists of a chicken sandwich with fries.

The couple currently live in Bristol with Asher's father, and got together a year after meeting through a mutual friend. Six months after a string of McDonald's dates, Archer proposed to Marshall. The two will tie the knot at Bristol Register Office on Saturday, July 27 before riding to their fast food haven in their hired limo.

The idea for a McDonald's wedding reception was Marshall's mother's idea, and the future bride jumped at the opportunity to do something unexpected.

"One of my friends sent me a message on Facebook saying 'Are you mad?,' but it's just something that we really like," she explained to the Daily Mail. Marshall is a full-time mom to her two-year old daughter, and she isn't the least bit worried about what people will think.

"I'm not worried about people staring at me - you're meant to be the center of attention on your wedding day, aren't you?"
