A Michigan boy wasn't expecting to see a marijuana pipe when he opened up his Burger King kids meal.
The boy's grandfather had gone to pick up some food at a Dundee Burger King while on vacation with his family, and got more than he bargained for, KCTV 5 reported.
"He handed the kids meal that he had gotten at Burger King to his four-year-old grandson and when they opened it up they found a loaded marijuana pipe inside the kids meal," Dundee Police Chief David Uhl, said.
A 23-year-old employee admitted to bringing the paraphernalia to work that day, there are two other suspects under investigation as well.
"He hid it somewhere in the store. We're not quite sure how it ended up in there. Somehow, somebody picked it up and stuck it in there when they were packaging up the food. It is definitely strange," Uhl said, according to Mail Online.
The grandfather had seen the suspects having a suspicious interaction in the Burger King parking lot.
"He did a really great thing: He wrote down a description of the car and gave a license plate," Uhl said, KCTV reported.
When police were called to the scene they were able to identify the suspects with the grandfather's information.
The responding officer found more drugs and paraphernalia in the suspect's car. All three of the suspects were cited for drug paraphernalia, and could be brought up on further charges.
"Very serious when our children are involved," Uhl said. "Luckily, this family was on top of it and saw it right away when the grandson opened it up."
In 2012 a mother found synthetic marijuana in her daughters' meals at a Texas Jack in the Box, Fox 7 reported.
"My 10-year-old daughter pulled out this weird thing and she's like 'Ew, mom, what is this?' And me and my husband looked at each other," the mother said.
