The streets of San Diego are filled with Batman, Katniss, Wonder Woman, Zombies and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents as day one of Comic-Con 2013 comes to a close.
The 44th annual pop-culture convention began with Wednesday's preview night, giving early access to the show floor to those who purchased four-day passes. Guests waited in longs line outside and inside the San Diego Convention Center.
"It's totally worth it," James Chen, 22, who wore a pink "Dragon Ball Z" headset, told the Christian Science Monitor. "I just bought this scouter, and I've had 10 people ask me where I got it. That doesn't happen anywhere else in the world."
Hard-core fans began camping out on the grass near the convention center in attempts to be the first to see films such as "Ender's Game" and "Divergent."
"Inside on the show floor, attendees posed for photos with zombies on a prison set from "The Walking Dead" and amid a jungle landscape with the alien from 'Predator,'" CS Monitor reports. "They also lined up to play the upcoming Xbox One and PlayStation 4 game consoles and gawk at such costumes as Tom Cruise's mechanized armor from 'Edge of Tomorrow' and Superman costumes from various movies and TV shows."
Many upcoming TV shows will hold panels to tease fans with previews, including "The Walking Dead," ''Game of Thrones," ''True Blood" and "Once Upon a Time," and the much hyped "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
"Ender's Game" stars Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld, and Harrison Ford were just a few stars in attendance.
"My expectations (for Comic-Con) are high because I've heard so much about it," said Steinfeld. "I hear everybody dresses up, so I'm excited about that."
However, this is not Ford's first go around of the convention, and gave MTV his unfiltered thoughts about Comic-Con.
"I don't know man, it's just wonderfully weird. I'm grateful that there's a place for all these people to go," Ford said jokingly.
