'Game of Thrones:' Queen Elizabeth II Snubbed the Iron Throne? Why Her Majesty Didn't Sit (PHOTO, VIDEO)

Last week, on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," David Benioff and Dan Weiss, writers for the fan favorite "Game of Thrones," talked about the royal visit to their set in Northern Ireland. In 2014, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip took a tour of the Belfast set and all of Twitter was begging for a meme-worthy photo. With cast members Lena Headey, Kit Harrington, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner nearby, the queen checked out the iron throne... but she didn't sit.

Why?

Is the queen not a fan?

Was the throne not badass enough?

"Apparently the Queen of England is not allowed to sit on a foreign throne," Benioff explained. "This is an esoteric rule we didn't know about until that moment."
