The long-awaited teaser trailer for "Fear The Walking Dead," the spinoff series of AMC's popular zombie show, aired on Sunday.
The 15-second clip premiered during the season five finale of "The Walking Dead." Although it is short, the video gives some vital details on the plot of the spinoff. Most important is that the show will begin before the outbreak.
Fans of "The Walking Dead" have to go back to the pilot episode to get a glimpse of what life was once like for the survivors. Even in that episode though, Rick and Shane kill a few zombies... the outbreak just isn't widespread yet. Since then, other survivors have been more of a threat to Rick and his group than zombies have.
The trailer also confirms that the show will be set in Los Angeles, not in Atlanta where "The Walking Dead" began. There are a few iconic scenes in Atlanta during the outbreak, but the possibility of seeing zombies take over a bigger city like Los Angeles should excite fans of the series.
The short clip shows a civilized Los Angeles during the morning commute.
"Hope you got your flu shot," a voice says over a car radio. "Reports in five states that a strange virus is going around. If you're not felling well, go home and take care of yourself."
"Fear The Walking Dead" does not have an exact premiere date yet, but it will air this summer.
