Kate Middleton and the Royal Baby: Duchess of Cambridge Craving Sweets, Could an 'Alice' Be in the Royal Future?

According to Parent Dish, a very pregnant Kate Middleton thinks she's having a baby girl because she can't stop eating sweets - and if old wives' tales are to be believed, the bouncing baby is sure to be a girl.

The Duchess of Cambridge has been craving chocolate biscuit cakes and sticky fruit loaves from a bakery near her home in Norfolk. "Prince William has always had a sweet tooth, but Kate has really had sweet cravings during this pregnancy," a source told the Daily Mail. "She could barely keep anything down in the first months of her pregnancy but recently she just cannot get enough of naughty treats."

"As it stands, over 70 percent of William Hill customers believe the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will have a baby girl, with Alice the current favorite name ahead of Elizabeth which is 9/2," spokesman Rupert Adams told People.

"Alice is the new favorite and we have seen a significant number of bets, particularly from the Tunbridge area - you have to think there is good reason for the gamble," Adams said, according to Parent Dish.

If the royal baby is given the name Alice, the bookmakers stand to lose a five-figure sum.

Next in line of favorites are Charlotte at 11/2 and Victoria at 12/1. The top-ranking boy's name is Arthur at 20/1, but if the duchess' sweet tooth is to be believed, those placing their bets on boys will lose.

Jessica Bridge from a competing bookmaker, Ladbrokes, told People, "The support for Alice is relentless, and we've been left with no option but to take the scissors to the odds."

Bets are being placed on gender, name and even due date. The official due date is April 25, but customers at Ladbrokes seem to think April 20 - the day before the queen's 89th birthday - will be the happy day, according to The Telegraph.
