Production has been finished on Zack Snyder's "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" since late 2014 and yet fans still have not been treated to a morsel of footage. However, that may change very soon.
The first official teaser trailer for the film will reportedly be attached to Warner Bros.' big summer blockbuster "Mad Max: Fury Road" which hits theaters in mid-May. Warner Bros. owns DC Comics - similar to how Disney owners Marvel and will be premiering the first trailer for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" with "Avengers: Age of Ultron" - so it makes sense that "Mad Max" would showcase the first trailer.
According to Collider, WB executives were reluctant to debut the trailer before the theatrical release of "Age of Ultron." Joss Whedon's follow up to the smash hit "Marvel's The Avengers" will be dominating the pop culture conversation for a while. Allowing for a bit of breathing room before debuting Batman and Superman together makes sense.
As of now, it is unknown if WB plans on releasing the trailer online before or after its theatrical premiere, but some type of digital campaign is expected. As this footage will only be a teaser, it is unlikely to give away too much information about the plot. Hopefully, the trailer will reveal enough so that fans can put to bed some big rumors that are making the rounds. Speculation has run rampant since not much is known about the story.
"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will be in theaters March 25th, 2016. "Mad Max: Fury Road" will be released on May 15.
